ABOUT THE ARTIST

Portrait artist Heather Marcus maintains a studio in New York City and accepts commissions throughout the United States as well as overseas. Her recent portraits include subjects residing in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, the Carolinas, California, Connecticut, Washington, Virginia, Massachusetts, Montana, England, Panama and Bermuda.

She earned a BFA in Sculpture with Distinction from the University of Kansas. Her formal training as a portrait artist and painter was at the Kansas City Art Institute and The New York Studio School. She continues to improve her portrait painting technique through advanced studio workshops and by studying portraits by the masters on frequent visits to the major museums in the United States, London, Paris, and Florence.

Heather Marcus has been listed in Who's Who in American Art since 1995. In her professional career over the past many years she has produced sculptures, oil paintings, mixed media works, and portraits, including private and corporate commissions. Her work is found nationwide in corporate collections and prestigious private collections. She has had 19 solo exhibitions and participated in 62 invitational and juried exhibitions since 1984.

She is a member of The Portrait Society of America.
